STUDIO ISABELLE VIGIER DESIGNER / VISUAL ARTIST
A one woman design studio for concept, art direction and graphic design Isabelle dedicates her work to the art field specifically: dance, theater, music, cinema and the visual arts, and to partnerships with artists and art initiatives of various scales. Based in Brussels since 2019, coming from Amsterdam since 1996, and from Paris where she was based from 1989.
A visual artist Isabelle works primarily with photography and video to make image series, installations and performance related works, sometimes in collaborations, sometimes in the context of dance or music productions. Her work has been performed or exhibited in Europe, the US, South America and Australia.

UNSOUNDS RECORDS
An independent music label created in 2001 by designer / visual artist Isabelle Vigier, guitarist Andy Moor, composer / sound artist Yannis Kyriakides. As well as releasing some of their own projects, the output of the label includes contemporary composition, improvisation and sound art by artists such as Anne-James Chaton, Francisco Lopez, Christine Abdelnour, Magda Mayas and Peter Adriaansz. She is co-artistic director, managing director and designer of the label, Unsounds.

ARTISTIC ASSOCIATIONS
ISABELLE VIGIER and ANNE LA BERGE (experimental flutist and composer), artistic duo : Anne La Berge and Isabelle Vigier’s creative collaborations focus on the exploration of telling stories through innovative forms of audiovisual performances. They have produced ‘Threads’ 2012, ‘Utter’ 2016. and ‘Cargo of Clouds,’ 2021 and are currently working on their next audio visual project.
ISABELLE VIGIER and VALENTINA CAMPORA (performer and choreographer). Their project ‘Safe Piece’ exists in the form of performances, a film, and an installation. Is is also published on Unsounds.
MAGPIE MUSIC DANCE COMPANY was at the avant garde of music dance improvisation in the Netherland in the early 2000’s when she was the designer and photographer in residence for the company. Their vision illuminated her own practice as a photographer and artist.

COLLECTIONS & RESIDENCIES
MOVEMENT EXPOSED GALLERY: Since 2020 my work (video and photography) is represented by Movement Exposed Gallery in Utrecht, NL. ‘Safe Piece (installation)’ was on view in September/October 2020.
DESTE FOUNDATION: ‘The Other Wind Cape’ has entered the Deste Art Collection in 2012, and was featured in the Deste Foundation Capsule 2012 curated by Athina Rachel Tsangari, that was premiered at Barney’s New-York 07-2012.
DANSATELIERS ROTTERDAM: I developed 2 projects during residencies at Dansateliers, in both cases working on video projections for dance performances, with choreographers Martin Sonderkamp (D) and Gabrielle Uetz (SW).
KRAAKGELUIDEN AMSTERDAM: I developed 2 live performance projects during short residencies at OT301;
‘Threads’ video performed live with dance and music by Lily Kiara, Anne La Berge, Felicity Provan and lights by Ellen knops
‘Le Journaliste’ live performance : video by Isabelle Vigier, text by Anne-James Chaton, music by Yannis Kyriakides and Andy Moor. This piece was later presented in Les Halles de Schaerbeek, Brussels.
ATELIERS KLAUS, Brussels: video installation/ diptych window projection ‘Un Dormeur’ is on view 24/24 in the temporary location of Ateliers Klaus in Brussels.
